Gangchon Rail Park
Gangchon Rail Park (강촌레일파크; map), located in Chuncheon City (춘천시; map), is a pedal powered rail bike that travels along the decommissioned Gyeongchun Line, providing scenic views of the North Han River and surrounding landscapes.
The park operates on the former Gyeongchun Line, a historic railway that connected Seoul to Chuncheon for over 70 years before its decommissioning in 2010. The transformation of this defunct railway into a recreational rail biking course allows visitors to pedal through picturesque countryside, offering a blend of physical activity and cultural nostalgia.
The rail bike course is approximately 8.5 kilometers long, divided into two sections: a 6-kilometer rail bike ride and a 2.5-kilometer journey on the Romantic Train. Along the route, riders pass through themed tunnels, each offering unique sensory experiences, and enjoy views of mountains, fields, and the North Han River.
