Bike Yeongdeok Country
The first leg of the (East Coast) Gyeongbuk Bike Path travels along the coast of Yeongdeok County (영덕군; map). This rural district sits against the East Sea in North Gyeongsang Province (경상남도; map).
The cycling course passes through two large seafood ports, a resurrected park, and one of the most famed beaches on Korea’s east coast.

Bugyeong Port to Ganggu Port
Travel north from the bottom of Yeongdeok County to its largest fishing port. Pass a military museum on a beach, a sunrise park, and seaside villages.
A Skippable Start
It’s difficult to get to the bottom of the Gyeongbuk Bike Path. No intercity bus stop lies near the start line.
If you prefer to arrive directly on the bike path, as opposed to cycling a couple 20 or 40 kilometers to the start, take an intercity bus to Ganggu Port.
Don’t worry. You won’t miss the first certification stamp.
